Mental Health Counseling

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act.

Therapy can be beneficial for anyone. A mental health counselor can listen to your struggles without judgement and suggest healthy ways to cope with your everyday challenges.

If you or someone you know is struggling emotionally, there are ways to get help. Nancy works with adolescents and adults with behavioral health concerns. She works with concerns ranging from primary mental health issues, substance use disorder, eating recovery, post traumatic stress disorder, and chronic pain.

Anxiety Counseling

If you find yourself struggling with troubling thoughts, you are not alone…

In fact, anxiety is the most common mental health disorder. It’s estimated that 40 million people in the United States suffer from anxiety.

With counseling, you can learn effective ways for coping with your anxiety, so that your symptoms have less of an impact on your daily life and activities.

Nancy Hilsenrath helps clients with a range of anxiety issues.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach designed to alleviate distress associated with traumatic memories. Developed by Francine Shapiro in the late 1980s, EMDR integrates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy with bilateral stimulation, typically through side-to-side eye movements or other rhythmic stimuli. The process involves identifying distressing memories, associated negative beliefs, and physical sensations, then using bilateral stimulation to facilitate processing of these memories, leading to desensitization and adaptive resolution. EMDR aims to help individuals reprocess traumatic experiences, reduce emotional distress, and develop more adaptive coping mechanisms, ultimately promoting psychological healing and growth.

Psychological Evaluations

Nancy Hilsenrath can assist you in many sorts of psychological evaluations such as Drug & Alcohol Evaluations, Court Ordered Mental Health Assessments, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and SAP evaluation for (RTD) Return to Duty, to name a few.
